I bought a Native American headdress once.

I bought a Native American headdress once. I was dying to do a photo shoot with it and thankfully I have some really great friends that made this fun shoot happen. No really, it was a blast. We drove around and found a field full of daisies during the golden hour. We, well Pat, lied to a guy that stopped to check out what we were doing. Told him Sam was a famous model and we were a photography group from Chicago photographing the locals, he was intrigued so it was a win. Brought out smoke bombs and sparklers and trekked down to a water location, shout out to Sam who did it in heels. When it got dark we decided to stop in the middle of a back road and do some cool things with the most magical evening sky. Pat also did the most flawless toe touch we have ever seen, but that’s for another blog post!

Check out the photos below!

Jocelyn + Josiah: Engaged

With every engagement session I come into it with the same goal, capture their love. Sometimes it is truly magical. Meet Jocelyn and Josiah. Every ounce of feels came out of them during their session and I couldn’t get enough. I’m almost positive I’m going to hire them to play their music at all of my upcoming engagement sessions, because when they played during their session it gave me goose bumps as I witnessed all of the emotions that oozed off of the two of them for one another. It was literally like all good things in the world collided as he played guitar and she, her ukulele with the sun setting in the background. We went well into the golden hour and almost chased the stars during their session, because how do you really stop such a good thing?

Faith: A Senior who can also pull off high-top purple and glitter Nike’s.

I met Faith for the first time the day of her senior session. I immediately thought she was awesome because she told me she is into art and well, I’m into art as well. Although she was seemingly quiet throughout the shoot she rocked some seriously great high-tops that had glitter on them.  An all around great gal with no doubt a great future ahead of her!

Holley: A Pretty Gal

This photo session has been a long time coming.  Trying to schedule a month in advance proved difficult, but all we needed was an incredibly beautiful day and we FINALLY found luck this week with such.  This world, is Holley.  Isn’t she one fabulous gal?

I’ve known Holley and her family for quite some time now, and one of my greatest memories of her as a young girl was when my best friend and I thought we would make great chaperons for a boys and girls club field trip to Holiday World.  We were roughly 17-18 years old and Holley, along with a group of her friends, were about 11-12 years old.  A young girl and her entourage were surprisingly exhausting to watch over! The day was filled with excitement and fun, tears from fear of a roller coaster, one lost locker key, lost money for food, impatience from having to wait for the others to finish up their riding of rides to go home, and many bathroom breaks.  Even though my best friend and I told Holley and the other’s parents that would probably be the first, last and only time we ever chaperoned again it was a fun and good experience minus the small hiccups! It’s amazing now, however, to see  what was a small young girl, transform into such a beautiful young lady.  Finishing up her 7th grade year she has found success in school, dance, and softball.  She has blossomed into her own funny, witty, and talented self and I only expect for her to continue doing such and to do  incredible things as she grows. Below are a few of my favorite images from our session!
