Christy + Blake + Baby Bump

It’s funny how photography works. One summer will be filled with ALL of the family sessions, one summer will be filled with seniors the next something different! I was talking with a friend lately about how there must be something in the water because I’ve photographed ALL of the baby bumps lately. And they’ve been so beautiful.

Christy and Blake suggested water for their session and I loved the idea. Little did I know we would have THE perfect day for such a session. Christy was a trooper because this little hidden gem of a place is behind some baseball fields, which apparently were holding tournaments during our slotted session time. She made baring her bump with a possible crowd looking on look effortless and magical.

You both are going to be incredible parents and I’m so excited for you to bring life into this world!

sidenote: her Becky shirt is on point and I think everyone who is pregnant should have one!

Baby Boom

I’m convinced this is the year of the baby. Within the last couple weeks I photographed a few newborn sessions, baby milestone sessions, a birth, a gender reveal and a maternity session. I’m not mad about it. I’ve loved seeing many of these couples and or families I’ve photographed in the past grow and add an addition or two to their crew. It’s what makes photography so inspiring and so much fun!

Below are a few favorites from Makenzie and Mitch’s maternity session. I loved that Makenzie had the idea to incorporate the rainbow in representation of her rainbow baby. It’s such an inspiration to other’s who have been in similar situations and or are still waiting for their miracle to see someone who has weathered the storm and can be so open about their experience. Plus, her belly is banging and she looks incredible! Mitch is one lucky guy!

Side note, Louie (dog) killed this Session with his good looks and love of the camera!

Paige, isn’t she lovely?

Ever since I can remember I have been constantly taking photographs of my youngest sister, Paige. Not only do I get to see the transformation of her becoming such a wonderful and stunning young gal, but I get to see the changing of my style and the realization of the rewarding pay off from practicing the craft, itself, as well as the gained and well used lessons I’ve learned from my internship.

It’s not often my sister can be back in our hometown of New Market, IN. So when she is, I always try to jump at the opportunity to doll her up and work out my creativity. Most the time willing, she has become one of my go to models to try different locations, different lens, poses, etc. With her go with the flow attitude, she is such a trooper even in some of the, dare I say sketchy, scenarios such as jumping from a massive tree for a shot just for the name of photography! Less sketchy and risky these days, here are some of my favorite shots of the lovely lady!
