Warren Dunes and Babes

My neighbor asked me, “who were those exotic looking people you took photos of recently?” I immediately knew it was Amanda and Austin. We met for the first time at the dunes and they freaking made dreams come true. Amanda is the most self confident, spontaneous and down for whatever person I’ve ever met and her Jesus looking boyfriend Austin was also there along for the ride. Basically they were a match made in heaven and a photographers dream. We ran out of breath hiking up the dunes, frolicked through the cold beach water, took shots of whiskey and got sand in some not so pleasant places. Magic basically, that’s what we did. Peep these steamy babes below!

Galloway Family

If you catch baby fever easily don’t read this post. Seriously. Because I’m about to show you some of the cutest sugars. Amanda and I didn’t meet prior to their session, but you know when you meet someone and it feels like you’ve known them forever? That’s exactly how I felt! They were warm and inviting the minute I showed up at their home. Then they took me to a magical place otherwise known as their family farm. The weather was perfect, they were perfect. This session gave me all of the feels and heart emojis. Check them out!

Wilson Family

I feel like I should, yet again, introduce myself. It’s been a minute, but you guys a lot has happened since my last blog post! For one thing, I moved back home from DC and into a photo studio in downtown Crawfordsville IN. Follow me on Instagram (@abbeyelainephotography) for weekly studio vibes to see what’s happening inside.

I need to give a shout out to the families who have been in it to win it with me since the beginning. This family being one. I can’t even explain how beautiful their family is. You’ll just have to see for yourselves below. A lot has changed in their family as well including a  new little sugar. I love growing with my families and photographing their realness, hashtag blessed. For the past couple years I’ve made the trip to IL and they never disappoint. Also they have the best baby names, Camp, Cooper and the newest little girl Charlie. Goals. All of them.

Mel: Maternity and family… Holy geez the beauty.

Mel and I went to high school together and I’ve seen her family grow through social media and reading her blog posts. She has two stunning young boys and a third on the way! Mel asked me to do a 48 hour session when baby Emmett arrived and I could not have been happier. I love babies and all their squish, big brother moments and beautiful tinder family moments as their lives change in a blink of an eye. I approached Mel about doing a maternity session, mostly because she is a beautiful individual, but I also love maternity sessions and don’t schedule enough of them. As planning went along I decided why shouldn’t we bring the whole family along? It’d give the boys a chance to meet me and get used to me for the day Emmett made his appearance. I also brought a few water guns, for smiling purposes of course! See the beauty of what is Mel’s family below!

oh. em. gee. YES!

Can we please discuss the fact that my younger sister got engaged this winter? And not to just anyone, but to one of my best friends. What’s even better was Rob, aka her fiancé, aka marine and all around good guy, planned the entire moment around me photographing it! Here’s the short version of their story!

I was to arrive at Rob’s family home for a “family session” and a few photos of the two of them that he could have before he left to head back to base. We did the session and then headed to downtown Indianapolis for a few more of just the two of them. Rob and I devised a plan that when we got downtown and were ready for the question to be popped I would get them into a good location and then tell him what time it was. He would then make eye contact with me and tap the pocket the ring was in to make sure I was good to go. Then he’d pull out the best speech of his life AND that fat rock! It’s safe to say the plan flew out the window! We got into a good location on the circle, I told them what time it was and it was like everything stood still. So I improvised. and by that I mean I asked, “so… do either of you have any more ideas on what else we could do?” Not to pat myself on the back, but it was one of my best provisions to date. Meaning it lead perfectly into Rob saying “I have an idea…” and then it happened. ALL. THE. FEELS. It was perfect. The entire moment. There were cheers from everyone close by and from his family across the street who got there just in time to witness it all. But we didn’t stop there. After letting it settle in and of course taking more photos we headed to Buca di Beppos where our family surprised her and the two families joined in for a celebratory dinner! She said yes, we had great food, and two families joined together for an eventful evening. It doesn’t get much better than that! Welcome to the family Rob. Thanks for making my sister happy and be prepared for an awesome speech by yours truly at the wedding!

Hollie + Brett

I think the best thing about my friend Hollie is her typical go with the flow kind of attitude.  In which case, I can text her at 3pm and say hey grab Brett, her boyfriend, and lets take some pics at 6pm and wear something cool!  We’ve talked about doing so before, but I couldn’t resist the excitement when I discovered this incredibly awesome tin rusted building.  I once was asked how I find such buildings and my answer was simple, I drive around like a creep and typically things will catch my eye, in which case I will circle the places, even more so like a creep, to get a better look.  This was most definitely the case when I found, what would become one of the backgrounds, building for this session.

Such a rad couple and GREAT friends made the experience so much FUN.  Hollie, who has helped me on many occasions during past sessions, is a natural in front of the camera and Brett did an awesome job making her laugh as well as bringing Spunk to the pics! Some of my Best friends and a beautiful couple, they had some awesome energy which in turn, transferred over to some pretty sweet pics!

Play Date with Drew!

I had been DYING to take a few photos of Drew.  He’s my hairstylist’s little boy and my new friend! I decided that it would be a good idea to take Drew to a playground because well, HELLO, it’s made for kids.  Little did I know this would wear. me. out!  This little boy had so much energy, but it definitly made for awesome candid photos! He was a handsome little boy and the session turned into more or less a play date at our local playground, definition of FUN!
