I can’t say that I have been to to many retirement parties, mainly because I don’t know very many people that are eligible for such an achievement. Nonetheless, this was extra special because it was for my grandmother. Making sure the church was spotless for the many guests that arrived and used it daily was her job for many many years. Although, she enjoyed it and encountered many people that became close friends, I have never seen her more happy the day of the party. It was a time to recognize not only the work she had done for the church, but put on full display the lives she had changed, as well as the outrageous number of relationships she has formed through the years.
