You guys, seniors this year have been killing it! They make me want a redo senior year as far as style goes that’s for sure. Sammi was freaking fire as we wondered the urban streets our small town has to offer. We couldn’t have asked for a better day to shoot and she even brought her son, Koda, along whom also had epic style. Peep her session below!
These two. I can’t get enough of them. I can honestly say it feels like the three of us have been friends forever and I’m so excited to be apart of documenting some of their monumental moments in their relationship so far.
It all started when I had the pleasure of photographing the two of them during Kia’s proposal to Jessie (in the dead of night only lit by candles testing all of my photography skills ha!). They then asked if I would do their engagement photos, but mentioned wanting something a little different. The best part of working with the two of them is they come at me with ideas, but still trust me enough to put my touch on it. I sent Kia a screen shot of one of the images of them laughing hysterically and she explained that that is them pretty much every time they are together. I love their love and HAD to share it with you all! View it below.
Y’all ain’t ready for this bohemian queen. Charmion contacted me with the idea of photographing her in an outfit she recently ordered. I’ll be honest, I was like mmkay yeah sure I’ll do it, but not really knowing what I got myself into. Then I met her. She’s beautiful and such an awesome person. Also the way she moves in front of the camera. Lord help me. See for yourself below.
It’s funny how photography works. One summer will be filled with ALL of the family sessions, one summer will be filled with seniors the next something different! I was talking with a friend lately about how there must be something in the water because I’ve photographed ALL of the baby bumps lately. And they’ve been so beautiful.
Christy and Blake suggested water for their session and I loved the idea. Little did I know we would have THE perfect day for such a session. Christy was a trooper because this little hidden gem of a place is behind some baseball fields, which apparently were holding tournaments during our slotted session time. She made baring her bump with a possible crowd looking on look effortless and magical.
You both are going to be incredible parents and I’m so excited for you to bring life into this world!
sidenote: her Becky shirt is on point and I think everyone who is pregnant should have one!
It’s no secret that couples are my jam. I love spending an hour or two engulfed in the love they share. Being a fly on the wall, an awkward fly on the wall, while they share little laughs, loving looks at one another. It’s seriously my favorite. These two are just one example of why I love being that awkward fly. Abby ( pretty awesome name am I right?!) said this was their first time getting photos taken together. You’d never be able to tell. They were super comfortable, but then maybe that’s because they love each other so much and love each other out loud through the way they hug or whisper in one another’s ear. Taylor, a 2017 senior killing the senior portrait game. She was incredible to work with. So fun and had a perfect go with the flow attitude. I’m not sure if I love senior sessions most because they make me feel young again, my ten-year reunion is this year WHAT. THE. WHAT?! Or if it’s because of the creativity that comes out of each session. Also, can we just give a little shout out to all of the makeup YouTube tutorials? You guys, I’ve been photographing them since 2012. That’s before Briella, before Drew was old enough to be in school, and before I was even trying to do this photo thing for real. Last year Bri was like “nope, not going to smile.” This year WE GOT SMILES! And back to school shoes for Bri. Which I refuse to believe she’s that old now. Anyways, let’s all pretend they will stay this little as we peek at their session below!
Olivia is literally a dream model. She not only enjoys getting her photo taken, but she’s also really good at it and totally natural. I’m also trying to talk her and Jennie into becoming my clothes stylist and hair stylist for every shoot I do from here on out! No really though. The situations they put me in for this session were to die for. An old truck, beautiful outfits, and an iron bridge equals dream shoot. The fireworks of course were my idea ha! Somehow we squeezed this session into my marathon of photo sessions two weeks ago. I’m so SO glad we did. I’ve been photographing them for a few years now from special events, pregnancies, anniversaries and NOW the entire family plus the newest addition. The wheat field and their grandmothers old stomping grounds are so special.
I’m the first to admit I am terrible with names. These boys thought it’d be cute to make up new ones that I somehow COULD remember. So here’s the Walters family, the red head we will call Jeff ha!
